Philanthropy

Acceler Fitness believes in social equity and community development so that a rising tide can help lift all boats. We have two primary areas of focus for our philanthropic efforts:

#1: Support for Nonprofit Organizations

Acceler Fitness donates 10% of all revenue to the nonprofit StudentFarmers.org, which is a registered 501(c)(3). Please note that this commitment is not a percentage of net profit but a percentage of gross revenue. This is an important distinction, because some companies reference donating to nonprofits as a percentage of their profit, which in many cases may be very low. We chose to support StudentFarmers.org, because their vision is aligned with ours relative to nutrition coaching.

Student Farmers

The vision of StudentFarmers.org is to increase knowledge about the advantages of eating more heathy and locally grown vegetables, starting with fast-growing superfood microgreens, that can be easily and inexpensively grown indoors year-round on windowsills. We engage with high-school and college students as well as adult students ranging from health enthusiasts to seniors, who live independently or in retirement communities. We believe in “life-long learning” and welcome opportunities to share our experience in underserved communities to help increase access to fresh and affordable vegetables in “food deserts”.

#2: Support for Underserved Communities

Acceler Fitness is creating a network of trainers who volunteer to donate an hour or more of their time at least four times per year to support residents of underserved communities.  The undeserved communities range from neighborhoods in many U.S. cites to rural areas where residents may also not have the resources to pay for personal trainers or have access to affordable fitness centers.

Acceler’s Trainers for Fitness Equity is a network of Certified Personal Trainers (CPT) who volunteer their time and expertise to support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) relative to health and wellness. Action comes in the form of group training sessions, flash workouts, and online training classes. Click here to order Trainers for Fitness Equity Apparel

This Acceler Fitness initiative is about strength in numbers and the power of the collective to make a positive change. The success of Doctors without Borders has inspired us, and feel that preventive health is needed in America now more than ever. We envision a national network of trainers and strategic partners. All participating trainers are either Certified Personal Trainers or Nutrition Coaches (See: Certification). Strategic partners range from community centers to church groups. For the highest and best use of the trainers’ time, strategic partners help assemble training groups so that the trainers can share best practices for exercise and nutrition to as many people as possible.

If you are a Certified Personal Trainer or Nutrition Coach who would like to join our Fitness Equity network, please Contact Us. We also welcome volunteers and student interns who would like to donate time to support the operational logistics of this initiative.
